What to Expect Before Your First Brow Lamination

Brow lamination is the ideal treatment for people whose brows grow in irregular directions or have gaps in between the hairs. Originating in Russia, brow lamination is one of the leading trends in the beauty industry. It is a semi-permanent treatment that works by perming the existing hair to mimic fuller, natural-looking, polished brows. It is suitable for all brow types, but especially course, curly, or unruly brows as well as thinning or sparse brows.

One of the most common misconceptions about brow lamination is that your brows must appear incredibly thick, fluffy, and feathered out. A brow lamination is versatile and can be worn a variety of ways. If you prefer them to be thick, brush them upwards. If you prefer them to be thin or sleeker, brush them to the side and slick them down. At Haven Esthetics, we strive to create a look customized to your preference and complimentary to your features.

When deciding to laminate your brows, there are a few things to consider. This lamination differs from the lustrous sheen we typically find on paper. This treatment is specially designed to deliver the perfectly polished look you desire. Let’s discuss some specifics on what to expect with regards to your first brow lamination treatment.

The Process

Here’s what is involved in the procedure:

  1. First, the esthetician will apply a perming cream to “lift” your brow hairs. The perming cream begins the chemical process of breaking down the bonds within the hair, establishing a new structure. As a result, your brows will be able to hold their shape and eliminate the need for frequent brushing and touchups.
  2. Next, the esthetician will apply a neutralizing cream to seal your brows and keep them in place.
  3. Then, the brow hairs are brushed upward with a spoolie to put them in a uniform, vertical direction. After the esthetician has shaped them to your preference, your brows are ready to be set.
  4. Lastly, the esthetician will apply a nourishing oil to soothe skin irritation as well as restore moisture back into the hair that was stripped by the chemicals used during the perm. We recommend applying a nourishing oil, such as pure castor oil, every night to help prevent any dryness that could lead to breakage.

In total, our brow lamination treatment takes 30 minutes to complete and includes a complimentary brow wax and tint.

The Results

If you want to elevate your natural brows with minimal effort, brow lamination is the perfect substitute to achieve long-lasting, effective results. The longevity of a brow lamination varies from person to person as hair growth phases, lifestyle, and aftercare will affect the retention. On average, results last approximately 6-8 weeks. If you find that your results do not last, you can repeat the treatment a minimum of 4 weeks after your initial service.

Brow lamination is customizable to every brow type. If you have course, curly, or unruly brows; this treatment will set them in place and provide the control you need. If you have thinning or sparse brows, it will make them appear fuller and more fluffy. It is a trendy, polished, more manageable way to take your brows to the next level.
