Microblading involves applying pigment on the skin of one’s eyebrows. It is sometimes thought of as tattooing brows. It is, however, described as less painful than getting a tattoo, but slightly more painful than getting an eyebrow wax. The benefits are permanent and last for years, so no more applying eyebrow pencil every morning, or stressing about having eyebrows on fleek.
4 things you should know before making the commitment of microblading are:
1. Know what shape you want: Before the microblading session ensure the shape has been picked out. There are two directions to go for eyebrow shapes. One can either choose their natural shape or go for a new shape which might include more of an arch. At Haven Esthetics we recommend sticking to one’s natural shape.
2. Get mapped before: Always ensure the artist maps out the brow shape before moving forward with the procedure. Mapping allows for the artist to get a more accurate idea of the shape and allows you to see if it’s approved before moving forward. We also recommend asking to see examples of previous work to get a better idea of the look you want.
3. Post-care: Ensure you are clear on the after-care instructions of microblading, which includes no exercise for 7-days, long hot showers, sun exposure or certain ointments. Speak with your microblading artist and be clear on what to do and not to do post appointment.
4. Touch Ups: The microblading should last 1-3 years, however you will need to come in for a touch up after 6-weeks and color boosts every 1-2 years to keep the color. Keep in mind that the healing process can take up to 30 days, so expect to see the full color after a month.
At Haven Esthetics we understand that microblading is both a commitment and an investment. That’s why we are happy to answer any questions about the process. Give us a call today to book your virtual consultation to see if microblading might be a fit to get your eyebrows looking perfect 24/7.
